Policies
The following policies are established to ensure clarity, consistency, and professionalism in all services provided by House of Perry Notarial Services. These terms are designed to protect both the client and the notary by outlining expectations, service conditions, payment procedures, and responsibilities.
Confidentiality
House of Perry Notarial Services maintains the highest level of confidentiality in handling all documents, identification, and personal information presented during the notarial act. As a commissioned Notary Public in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, we do not share, retain, copy, or distribute any private information beyond what is legally required. All personal and legal information disclosed during appointments is kept strictly confidential, and all signings are conducted professionally and discreetly in full compliance with Pennsylvania notary law. Your privacy is respected, protected, and prioritized at all times.
Liability and Limitation of Services
House of Perry Notarial Services does not provide legal advice, document preparation, or guarantee the legal effect of any notarized document. Clients are responsible for understanding the nature and implications of their documents before signing. All notarial services provided are strictly limited to the duties permitted by Pennsylvania law. House of Perry Notarial Services liability is limited to errors or omissions proven to be directly caused by the notary’s action within the scope of commissioned duties. Any questions regarding the legal implications of documents should be directed to a licensed attorney.
Payment and Appointments
To book an appointment, a valid credit or debit card is required to be kept on file. Your card will not be charged at the time of booking. The full service fee is due at the time of your appointment and can be paid via cash, major credit/debit card, or approved digital invoice platforms.
In the event of a no-show or late cancellation (less than 24 hours’ notice), a 50% service fee will be charged to the card on file. Itemized receipts are provided for all services.
Cancellation/No show
To ensure availability for all clients, cancellations for standard appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. For rush or emergency appointments, there is a 15-minute window after booking to cancel. After that period, cancellation of the appointment will be considered a no-show.
A 50% no-show/cancellation fee will apply if appointments are cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, missed entirely, or if the appointment cannot be completed due to client error. This includes presenting invalid ID or failing to bring necessary documents.
If an appointment is missed or unable to be completed, it may be rescheduled within the following 24 hours. In this case, the no-show/cancellation fee will not apply. Rescheduled appointments within the 24-hour time frame must be done by phone. For missed/rescheduled appointments that were scheduled within the 24 hour time frame, if the appointment is missed for a second time, a 75% no-show/cancellation fee will be applied
Mobile/ Refusal of Service
All mobile notary services are available by scheduled appointment only. Appointments must take place in safe, well-lit, and publicly accessible locations such as private homes or businesses where someone is present, libraries, cafes, or other notary-friendly venues, and, where permitted, hospitals, care facilities, or government buildings. House of Perry Notarial Services reserves the right to decline or reschedule any appointment if the location or circumstances are deemed unsafe or inappropriate.
Our notaries may refuse service at any time if the location is deemed unsafe, if the environment is unsanitary or threatening, or if the client, any signer, or accompanying party is intoxicated, aggressive, noncompliant, incoherent, mentally incompetent, or appears to be under duress. Any threatening or harassing behavior will result in immediate termination of the appointment and may be reported to law enforcement.
Please note that services may be refused or discontinued at any time due to safety concerns, suspected fraud, incomplete documentation, or any behavior that compromises the integrity of the notarial act.
Anti-Discrimination
At House of Perry Notarial Services, we are committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and judgment-free environment for all clients. Every individual is treated with dignity, compassion, and professionalism, regardless of background, identity, personal circumstances, or documentation needs. We recognize that notarial services may involve sensitive or emotional matters, and we are dedicated to providing support with empathy and impartiality. All services are delivered with the utmost confidentiality and without judgment.
We uphold a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination, harassment, or intimidation. Discrimination based on race, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, immigration status, or socioeconomic background is strictly prohibited, as is any demeaning or aggressive conduct directed at client, staff, or collaborators. Our mission is to maintain a safe and welcoming space—whether in person, online, or by phone—where every client feels secure, valued, and respected.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for ensuring that all signers are present, alert, and have valid, government-issued photo ID at the time of the appointment—no exceptions. If the appointment cannot proceed due to missing parties, improper identification, or unsafe conditions, a cancellation fee will apply.
All documents must be complete, properly prepared, and ready for notarization prior to the appointment. Failure to do so may result in service refusal and applicable fees. These requirements help prevent legal issues, delays, or invalid notarizations.
Technology Disclaimer
To maintain the integrity of our services and protect client privacy, unauthorized audio or video recording during in-person appointments is strictly prohibited unless all parties provide clear, verbal or written consent. However, please note that remote online notarizations may be recorded as required by law or platform policies. Use of mobile devices must not interfere with the notarial process.
In the event of technical difficulties involving mobile payment systems, card readers, or digital forms, clients may be required to use alternate payment methods or complete forms manually.
We do not sell, share, or disclose any client data or technology-related information to third parties. All digital interactions are used solely for the delivery of notarial services and are protected in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
